ADVOCACY FOR RIGHTS

Our tribe is not only a community for self-determination but also an advocacy organization dedicated to Human Rights, Indigenous Rights, and Environmental Rights. We believe in empowering our members with the knowledge and tools to protect and champion their rights, ensuring they can effectively advocate for themselves and their communities.

INDIGENOUS RIGHTS (ADRIP)

Our advocacy for Indigenous Rights is rooted in the American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (ADRIP), adopted by the Organization of American States (OAS) and supported by President Barack Obama. This declaration recognizes the unique cultural, political, and socioeconomic rights of Indigenous peoples, including the right to self-determination, land, and cultural preservation.

Course Highlight:
Members will learn how ADRIP applies to their lives and our collective mission. Quizzes and interactive scenarios will challenge members to internalize these rights and leverage them in advocacy efforts.

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are universal principles that protect the dignity, freedom, and equality of every individual. Our focus includes the right to self-determination, equality, and access to basic needs such as education, healthcare, and housing. We draw upon foundational documents such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and relevant U.S. laws that uphold these principles.

Course Highlight:
Members will explore case studies of human rights advancements, participate in interactive sessions, and complete a quiz to ensure their understanding. These courses will equip members to advocate for these rights within their communities and on larger platforms.

ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS

The protection of our environment is intrinsically tied to the survival and well-being of Indigenous communities. Environmental rights include access to clean water, air, and land, as well as the responsibility to steward these resources for future generations. We advocate for policies that combat climate change, reduce pollution, and protect biodiversity.

Course Highlight:
This course educates members on the intersection of environmental justice and Indigenous advocacy. Members will review environmental law, participate in solution-oriented discussions, and complete quizzes to solidify their knowledge.
